Who is David From Venus ?
A project that was curated to answer a need to go in a different musical and emotive direction. David From Venus is David Garcet’s second undertaking as a solo DJ and producer, birthed from his inner desire to create music that goes beyond the classic club scene and reaches deeper into alternative layers of music.
Based on a more expressive and emotive style, David From Venus beholds a strong voice with every track interpreting a different story and message. Usually focusing on slower tempos and rhythms to allow all elements of each track to breathe and communicate what they have to say. A unique style that bears a lot of meaning, portrayed by a rich and technicolour sound that takes music listeners adrift on an atmospheric journey that would lift you as far as Venus.
One of the most fascinating aspects of David From Venus is that he has created an ideal formula that masterfully blends and puts into focus all the diverse influences encountered in his lifetime. From Electronica, to Wave, Ambient, Disco Drone, or even Alternative Pop, including Trip Pop and even Dream Pop. Music fans should always expect the unexpected, if there is one thing David From Venus knows how to do is to create a distinct magic and instil surprise. He knows how to move a crowd both physically and emotionally. His dancefloors reveal an emotional intensity that is unmatchable. Using powerful and sublime voices on his tracks, including those of New Yorker Christine Hoberg or Berliner Klangschwester, he builds an inspiring and striking link with his audience. Together they become one to share a passionate voyage across music.
His music first saw the light of day on the infamous Berliner label Emerald & Doreen, on which he released a sensational series of remixes. They included a few hidden gems such as a remix of ‘KIEV’ by Unmagma, or the timeless remix of ‘Bonestranded’ by Christine Hoberg. These records opened the door slightly on the different flavour of music that David From Venus was crafting, acting as a teaser for the riveting and unusual world that lay behind it. Deliciously fashioned, they left the label and music enthusiasts wanting more, catapulting him into the start of a new musical. A few years down the line, David From Venus announces that he is signing his return on Emerald & Green in March 2020. This time to release his own track rather than remixes, in collaboration with Cyané, a gifted artist hailing from Mexico and whose talent has already appeared on several tracks by renowned artist Cubenx on Infinity Records. In June 2020, a second release is scheduled on Jane Musica, this time including the illustrious Baridi Baridi, the Argentinian with the stifling and spellbinding voice. David From Venus seems to have landed in Latin America for the time being but it will not be long until he is on the move again and transporting fans to another enthralling destination…
