Get to know Sifa and DJ QNESS ahead of our next release 'Afrofro' on 26th June
We are honoured to present two new talented artists to our music label Jane Musica: Sifa and DJ QNESS. Their unique flair for music and production styles have captured our hearts and souls, and we hope they will do the same for you. We are excited to have them on board and to be featuring their remixes on our label’s third EP release ‘Afrofro’, out on 26th June 2020. DJ and producer Sifa was born and raised in Brussels. Bred from the world of Hip-Hop, he progressively found his way to electronic music and landed in a techno-leaning sound no less! Guided by his own intuition and inspired by creative freedom, Sifa moved away from the conventionalities of electronic music to foster his own production style. Culminating in music and a career that are remarkably distinctive, not easily defined in words as they do not lend themselves to any one genre in particular. Expect melodramatic soundscapes with seamlessly balanced rhythm and groove. His well-structured and refined build-ups set his DJ gigs and mixes apart and have led him on a wanderlust adventure across the world. Landing him on stages playing alongside other electronic music heavyweights, including Art Department, Black Coffee, Omar-S, Catz 'n Dogz, Adam Port, David Mayer, Kenny Glasgow, Culoe de Song, and Boddhi Satva, and more. If Sifa knows anything is how to ignite dancefloors with passionate and soul-stirring music that always leave a crowd wanting more.
Underground South African-based DJ QNESS has left an impressionable dance footprint in South Africa, Europe and across the rest of the world. Boasting a number of tracks and remixes released on several prominent electronic labels including MoBlack, Kingstreet Sounds/Nite Grooves, XL, Because Music, Exploited Records Germany, soWhat, Ocha, Makin Moves, Offering and many more. His sound is noticeably soulful, sad and sometimes melancholic, right up to completely uplifting, with drumming beats that will undoubtedly leave you with a smile on your face and full of glee. A gentle rollercoaster of emotions and feelings that electrify your soul. From humbling beginnings nearly a decade ago in South Africa to releasing chart topping hits, DJ QNESS continues to surprise music lovers with his burning passion for music and his fearlessness in challenging the underground music scene’s conventions.
