Each month we’ll be taking you through some of our top picks of people, labels, tracks or even equipment which we think you should take a look at. This month, we’re focusing on three music labels which we have a lot of appreciation for and have really helped to grow the music industry.
Top 3 electronic music labels
Manual Music was created in the later half of 2005 by Paul Hazendonk and was originally started as a sublabel of Basic Beat record company where he was working at the time. But Manual Music was quickly catapulted to international fame within the first couple of releases. By 2009 Paul decided to leave Basic Beat and embraced the Manual Music brand. Since this the record label has exploded and is now home to a variety of in-house sublabels. We have a soft spot for Manual Music because they do much more than just release music, you can also rely on these guys for digital distribution, label management, artist management, publishing, and DJ/radio promotion. They even host various events throughout the year in different countries to promote and support the music they release. The stupendous variety of services offered is a reflection of the label’s dedication to developing the music industry, and enabling artists and music enthusiasts under their wing to keep evolving. We admire their devotion to music and their many changing facets which have allowed a wealth of incredible artists as Xenia Beliayeva, Hubert Kirchner, Mjane and David Garcet and many more.

My Favorite Robot Records
My Favorite Robot Records is a record label created in 2008 by Jared Simms and Voytek Korab. The idea came after the pair’s DJ career started to take off. As the two began to travel the world they noticed a gap within the global music electronic music scene. What they saw was a bright future for developing and broadening the scope of electronic music. Both passionate about music they wanted to educate music lovers, they therefore missioned themselves with ignoring the mainstream and creating this label to deliver new and original music to as many music fans as possible. The label recently celebrated their 10 year anniversary, a decade of sharing their vision of music and breaking the norms. We really value the way these guys and their team have been influencing and highlighting the subgenres of electronic music. Being supportive of underground genres hasn’t always been easy, we appreciate their persistence which has given us access to so much phenomenal music.

Jennifer Cardini established Correspondant in 2011 in association with reputable global distributor, Kompakt Records. This record label has really stood out to us as it has consistently sourced outstanding progressive electronic music. Cardini lends her good ear from her two decades as a music producer, sound designer and DJ. This experience gave her a positive head start when she launched her record label. Almost a decade later and the label has issued 36 EPs and three compilations, as well as host regular night in renowned clubs in Paris, Barcelona, London and Tel Aviv. The label is also branching out to develop a booking agency and commit to producing a series of full-length albums. Cardini’s label is extremely well executed and curated, we look forward to seeing how it further develops.
